During time spent studying voice, piano, and auditioning for graduate school, Rodney Davidson took a position as a graphic designer. After pursuit of careers in both graphic design and opera, he set up shop as DogStar Design in 1992. Throughout his career he has become known for logo designs and corporate identities which are both conceptually remarkable, as well as enduring. Focusing on corporate identity, iconography, illustration, character development, and packaging, his work has received international recognition. He also landed many high profile clients including The Grammy Awards and received an invitation to participate in the logo development for the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Additional clients have included Target, The Boston Globe, Yahoo, Coca Cola, Coors, Delta Airlines, Hasbro Games, Harper Collins, Random House and Audi. His conceptual and unique design approach has led to commissions from major agencies across the country. His work has garnered numerous awards including Communication Arts Magazine, Graphis, Print and The National Addy Awards. He has also served as a contributor and editor for design publications and his storytelling abilities have made him a favorite speaker and lecturer. And, by the way, although he he’s had a successful design career, he’s also managed a dual-profession as a singer/performer.
